Michael Toporek

Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Toporek founded Brookstone Partners in 2003 and focuses on managing the firm, originating transactions and actively working with portfolio companies on organizational transformation, market expansion and strengthening operations. Michael has particular strength working with entrepreneurial management teams to build companies and helping to execute their strategic vision. He serves on the board of a number of Brookstone portfolio companies.

Prior to Brookstone, Mr. Toporek worked extensively with Fortune 100 companies to formulate and execute complex merger, acquisition and financing strategies in diversified sectors such as manufacturing, building products, medical and analytical instruments, environmental services, technology and transportation/logistics. He has also structured innovative debt, equity and equity-linked financing in the U.S. and European capital markets. Mr. Toporek began his career in Chemical Bank’s Investment Banking Group, later joined Dillon Read, which became UBS Warburg during his tenure, and SG Cowen.

Jessica Thomas

Chief Financial Officer, Corporate Secretary and Treasurer

Jessica Thomas, CFO of Mechanical Technology Incorporated. Ms. Thomas has oversight of MTI’s budget and performance plan, strategic planning efforts, and financial operations, policy, and financial information systems for MTI. Prior to joining MTI, Ms. Thomas was a Director at Pregis, LLC, where she held various finance and operations leadership roles, including responsibility for project managing an SAP implementation and optimization efforts.

Prior to Pregis, Ms. Thomas was at Plasan North America, where she developed cost accounting and financial planning analysis within the company and gained experience working in the defense industry.

Ms. Thomas holds a BBA in accounting, and MBA from Northeastern in Finance & International Finance. She has also been a member of AICPA since 2005.

Lisa Brennan

Corporate Controller

Lisa Brennan returned to MTI in 2011. In her current position, Mrs. Brennan is responsible for the reporting obligations of the corporation to the OTC Markets Group, as well as financial reporting and internal control compliance. In addition, Lisa oversees the administrative support functions, including human resources.

Before re-joining the company, Mrs. Brennan was a Senior Accountant for Plug Power and, prior to that, served as MTI’s Director of Financial Reporting and Assistant Controller.

Mrs. Brennan holds a Bachelors degree in Accounting from Bentley University.
